In a recent announcement, Keller Williams Realty revealed the company had pushed past industry giants to become the number one real estate franchise in the United States in agent count, closed units and closed sales volume.
Though Keller Williams Realty has been in business since the early 1980’s, 2017 alone saw the company’s 155,000 U.S. agents close more than 1 million units, generating more than $300 billion in sales revenue.
“This is a historic day for Keller Williams,” said Craig Owen, team leader of KW San Antonio’s Heritage office. “Being a part of this company has changed the lives of agents in our office as well as agents in offices throughout the country. Personally, I know it has changed mine in a tremendous way.”
So what is it that launched this company into the mega-success it has seen? While one could argue it’s the people running the organization, in this case, it’s about the success of the whole organization. And at the center of that success is Keller Williams’s commitment to share its prosperity through profit sharing*, cultivate the company culture, and lead agents and staff members to develop “careers worth having, businesses worth owning, and lives worth living”.
*Profit sharing is a program in which market centers share roughly half of their profit each month with the team members who helped realize those gains. The KW Heritage office shared nearly $1 million of the profits from 2017 back to its agents.
