Bah Humbug! One of the most beloved Boerne traditions returns this weekend with Dickens on Main. Guests will celebrate amongst the characters and theme of Charles Dickens’ famous novella “A Christmas Carol”. Located throughout the Hill Country Mile downtown, the event encourages attendees to wear their best petticoats and top hats and spend a few hours I nthe historic area. To complete the great holiday celebration, the event features Santa, a petting zoo, train rides, and much more to encourage a night of family fun. Don’t miss out on a chance to step into a Christmas celebration of the past at Dickens on Main.

A key event in the annual Dickens on Main, the Stocking Stroll is part local tour and part shopping spree. The event features local Boerne businesses located along the historic Hill Country Mile. Participants pay for a ticket and are given a map of businesses to visit and discover. Upon visiting each shop guests are given unique gifts to help fill their stocking. A local favorite, the event is always a hit. Act fast! Tickets sell out quickly. However, if the event is full, make sure to give the Hill Country Mile a visit this weekend for good measure. Visit Bear Moon Bakery
It’s no secret that Boerne traces its roots to settlers of German descent. Interestingly, if you take a trip around Europe, and specifically Germany, you’ll notice far more bakeries than you generally do in the United States. Bakeries were traditionally focal points of the community, providing baked goods to members of the town. Located on Main Street in the heart of Boerne, the Bear Moon Bakery keeps the baking tradition alive as one of the great local businesses Boerne has to offer.
