People love Boerne for the small town atmosphere, Hill Country views, and quaint downtown. However, Boerne also has far more to offer visitors and residents alike than many realize! Boerne is known for rich heritage, great location, and an active community, all of which are showcased by local businesses. No need to research, five of the best fun events to attend and businesses to visit in Boerne this week are described below. Hopefully this list will make planning a perfect Texas Hill Country weekend a little easier!
1. Get Fit (for Free!) and Try a New Class

Are you ready to re-vamp your New Year’s resolutions? If you’ve fallen off the gym bandwagon since January, this is your second chance to get in shape for Summer! “Get Fit Boerne” is a fitness incentive that stretches the entire month of April, giving you the chance to participate in free classes that will help you get moving and stay on track. “Get Fit Boerne” kicks off this weekend with a full schedule of not-so-average classes. Friday’s opportunities include Camp Gladiator, Barre, Boot Camp, Group Cycle, Trekking, Silver Sneaker Yoga Stretch, Essential Pilates, Beginning Ballet, and Pickle Ball, among others! Saturday continues on with Boot Camp, Book Talk Walk, Beginners Crossfit, several hours of Kids Camp, and Christ Centered Yoga. Classes are mostly held at Boerne YMCA, Specialized Fitness Boerne, and Athletic Republic Boerne, with several specialty locations like Currey Trailhead, Crossfit Boerne, etc. You can check out the calendar for “Week 1” and register for Get Fit Boerne by clicking here!
2. Get your vintage car fix for the weekend

If you’re heartsore for the days when vintage cars were cruising around Boerne, it might be time to head to the Texas Healey Roundup on Saturday! The South Texas Austin-Healey Club of America (the world’s largest Healey club) is hosting the Texas Healey Roundup on Boerne’s Main Plaza! This classic British sports car was only in production from 1952-1970, meaning it holds tremendous value in the eyes of experienced and novice car lovers alike! The Roundup, a tradition now spanning over 35 years, won’t be limited to cars, either. Off-site festivities will also be held at Random (beer garden and food truck park), and a local driving service will provide complimentary transportation.
To add even to the automotive novelty of this weekend, Lester’s Automotive is hosting their eighth annual Open Charity Car Show! Besides great cars both new and vintage, Lester’s will host a “customer appreciation day” featuring food, music and prizes. Proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

For over 25 years, the Cibolo Nature Center and Farm has been hosting the “Mostly Native Plant Sale” for Boerne-ites! This event is truly a community favorite, infusing the beauty of the Texas Hill Country straight into your front yard. Starting at 9am on Saturday, you can head to the Kendall County Fairgrounds to “find native non-native plants, tried-and-true for the Texas Hill Country!” You’ll also get the opportunity to meet expert growers and learn more through informal presentations and demonstrations. Also, annual Cibolo Nature Center & Farm members can enjoy the pre-sale event “Sip and Shop” on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm! Your front yard’s landscaping can thank us later.

Have you dared to try Stand Up Paddleboarding? Though this increasingly popular water sport seems incredibly precarious, Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is actually relatively easy...and you get to stay totally out of the water! SUP, which originated in Hawaii, actually pre-dates surfing and provides a unique core workout promoting strength and endurance. Now that Hill Country Paddle Sports has opened its Spring hours, paddleboard rentals and directions are available daily! The ambitious paddleboarder can even try “SUP Yoga” on Saturday mornings at Boerne City Lake.
Where: Boerne City Lake boat ramp
When: Daily, Noon-6pm
5. Farmers’ Market at Cibolo

The Farmer’s Market at the Cibolo is open for Springtime produce, farm fresh eggs, breads, jams, jellies, local honey artisan goods, and more. Market activities include live music, gardening and cooking workshops, and children’s crafts. Besides delicious food and fresh culture, the Farmers Market is located at the historic Herff Farm at the Cibolo Nature Center...listed on the National Register of Historic Places! Besides enjoying yourself and finding non-GMO, organic supplies for the week, the market allows you to support The Cibolo Nature Center and Farm. The CNC aims to ensure Boerne’s natural treasures are not only protected, but thriving...an important goal in this gorgeous town!
