People love Boerne for the small town atmosphere, Hill Country views, and quaint downtown. However, Boerne also has far more to offer visitors and residents alike than many realize! Boerne is known for rich heritage, great location, and an active community, all of which are showcased by local businesses. No need to research, five of the best fun events to attend and businesses to visit in and around Boerne this week are described below. Hopefully this list will make planning a perfect Texas Hill Country weekend a little easier!
1. Watch the Super Bowl Texas-style at The Roundup

Though Texas law doesn’t require every football-loving man and woman to watch the Super Bowl, attendance on Sunday night is kind of an unspoken rule. So where will you watch the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers face off in the 2016 Super Bowl? This year, The Roundup Beer Garden and Food Park is calling all football-loving Texans to join them for their “1st Annual Mega Super Bowl Bash”. The party includes all you can eat and drink (including draft beers and a “mega buffet”), and the JJ Garrett Band will provide live music before kickoff. The game will be playing on both the Roundup’s 65” TVS and a giant projector screen. Kickoff is at 5:30pm, but the party begins at 3. Prizes will be awarded to the most festive fans, so be sure to wear all your favorite football gear! If you’ve never been to The Roundup Beer Garden and Food Park, we recommend it. Featuring a dog park and playground, The Roundup is a place for the entire family.
When: Sunday, 3– 9:00 pm
Where: The Roundup, 531 FM 3351 N
2. Unleash your inner artist at The Shabby Palette

Whether you’re a talented artist or you’ve never picked up a paintbrush, you’ll find the freedom to get artsy at The Shabby Palette this Friday! Though the studio is usually booked up with private events and children’s classes, this weekend holds a public “Paint and Sip” class starting at 7pm. The class will include ample instruction for those who need it, as well as artistic freedom for those who want to get more technical. And take note...the class is called “Paint and Sip”, so don’t forget to bring your own beverages (and snacks if you’d like).
Though The Shabby Palette only opened in November of 2014, it has already gained popularity as a new community art center. Located in the heart of downtown Boerne, the studio’s aim is to make art education and services available to all ages in the community. Be sure to reserve a spot in advance to ensure you get a seat!
When: Friday, 7:00pm
Where: The Shabby Palatte, 347 N Main Street
3. Walk the red carpet at “A Night at the Oscars”
Have you ever wanted a true Hollywood experience without leaving Boerne? If so, Saturday night’s “A Night at the Oscars” is for you! To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Boerne Performing Arts, the red-carpet event will feature the “Orchestra of Stars”, a collection of incredible musicians who specialize in show-stopping songs. This movie-themed performance will bring you musical selections from E.T., The Wizard of Oz, Schindler’s List, Titanic, and a myriad of other award-winning musical scores dating back to 1927. Celebrate Boerne Performing Arts, whose mission is to bring the world of professional performing arts to the local community, by walking the red carpet. Black tie and formal dress are encouraged for this unique “Night at the Oscars”!
