5 Things To Do in Boerne This Weekend (Aug 5-7)

1. Taste Local Brews & Score a Souvenir Pint

If there’s one thing Hill Country folk can all agree on, it’s this: 100+ degree Texas days call for a cold beer...preferably locally brewed and enjoyed with old friends. Agree? Stop in to the Boerne Brewery for a tasting this weekend! The folks at the Boerne Brewery pride themselves on community, always making beer that residents of the Texas Hill Country can be proud of. According to them, “the beers are brewed in Boerne, by people from Boerne.”

Their classic brews include Denim-Hosen (a traditional Kolsch-style German wheat ale with a sweet tang and smooth, refreshing finish), Willy’s ESB (an “extra special bitter” that strikes a balance between traditional English earthy hops and sweet barley malt), Hopstrasse (an IPA named after Boerne's historic main street, Hauptstrasse), and Old Courthouse (a dark English ale with distinctive roasted malt flavors of coffee, chocolate, molasses, and caramel). On Fridays and Saturdays, you can get a tour, a tasting, and a souvenir pint glass for only $5!

When: Fridays from 2:00-5:00pm; Saturdays from 1:00-4:00pm

Where: Boerne Brewery; 9 Hill View Lane

2. Put Your Shooting Skills to the Test at Joshua Creek Ranch

Are you a “King of the Hill”? Find out at Joshua Creek’s “King of the Hills” Sporting Clays Fun Shoot! This third annual event will feature an early evening clay shoot, a creekside cool down, and a chef-prepared Argentinian Asado grill dinner under the Hill Country sunset! Prizes will be awarded to the best in attendance, including teams, individual shooters, ladies, and youth. The cost ($125/shooter or $500/4-shooter team) includes 100 targets, dinner, the chance for awards & prizes, beer & wine, and complimentary creek access for swimming. If shooting isn’t your thing, you can still attend as a spectator and enjoy the meal for only $29 (including beer & wine).

Joshua Creek offers world-class clay target shooting, including three different fully-automated scenarios (the 15-station sporting clays course, the wobble trap, and the triple trap wobbler) on a gorgeous Hill Country setting. The mission of Joshua Creek Ranch is to provide its members and guests with an exceptional and memorable outdoor experience!
