This annual premier Christmas event heralds in the season in style, featuring everything from live musical entertainment to colorful Dickens-era theatrical performances to a variety of children’s activities (including Santa and a 60-foot snow slide). Add in live ice sculpting shows, lighting ceremonies, horse-drawn carriage rides, snow on Main Street, and plenty of festive food, and you’ve got Dickens on Main! Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday held on the Saturday after US Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. First observed on November 27, 2010, it is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which feature big box retail and e-commerce stores respectively.

3. Listen to a Concert in a Cave: Sounds of the Season

Cave Without a Name’s holiday concert lineup includes “Sounds of the Season” which will present both traditional and contemporary instrumentation and song selection. The evening’s performance will feature Tinsel, an a cappella quartet known for putting a new spin on holiday classics. Far from your average carolers, Tinsel has been described as sleek, sophisticated, and distinctive.

The Bookshop Under the Windmill sells gently used books, DVDs, audio books, children's books and holiday gifts! The shop opens its doors to Black Friday shoppers today from 10am to 2pm and on Saturday from 10am to 2pm. The Bookshop Under the Windmill is run by The Friends of the Boerne Public Library, selling very gently used, top-quality books of all kinds for very low prices.

5. Jam Out to Some Live Music

Turns out, you don’t have to drive all the way to Austin to listen to killer live music! Drink Texas Biergarten (the self-proclaimed “live music capital of Boerne”) and The Roundup have your live musical performance lineup for this weekend! On Friday, acoustic duo The Rustic Avenues will perform at Drink Texas Biergarten. Then, on Saturday, The Roundup will host Texas music icon Walt Wilkins & The Mystiqueros. Both venues are kid-friendly and feature a unique beer selection!
