True to its artistic mission, the Hill Country Council for the Arts has teamed up with the Majestic Ranch Arts Foundation and Boerne Public Library to create an especially Boerne-esque event: Art at the Amphitheater! Set to take place in the stunning outdoor venue at the Patrick Heath Public Library, this series will kick off on September 21 with a special performance by The Nash Hernandez Orchestra, an Austin band specializing in big band swing and Latin music. Come support your local arts and "dance 'til you drop!"

2. Peruse the Second Saturday Art Beat
Second Saturday Art Beat is a colorful, monthly gathering devoted to helping you discover the vibrant local Boerne art scene. 4. Sway Along at the Moondance
Nothing quite says “summer time” like the Cibolo Moondance Series! Gather with friends and neighbors, sway to music under the stars, and enjoy the Hill Country outdoors. This extremely casual event celebrates Hill Country vibes beautifully, and the proceeds help support nature education and outreach programs at Cibolo Nature Center & Farm. This month’s artist is the Lost Mule Band, a contagious mix of traditional country, classic rock ‘n’ roll, blues, and Texas swing. Gates open at 7:00 pm and music starts at 7:30!

5. Get Nostalgic at Hot Rod Night

If you’re feeling nostalgic this weekend, just head to Soda Pops Patio Grill & Bar for one of their famous “Ho t Rod Nights”! Soda Pops is a classic restaurant reminiscent of a retro 50’s diner...combined with a cartoon-worthy ice cream parlor and soda shop with a novelty atmosphere. To add to the whimsy, the attached Ice Cream Parlor + Soda Shop offers homemade treats, tabletop bowling, checkers, coloring books, barrel-of-monkey, and lots of old school fun. During Hot Rod Nights, the town gathers together at Soda Pops to listen to special musical guests and enjoy juicy burgers, cold beer, and handspun shakes. 7. Uphold Tradition at the 112th Kendall County Fair, Rodeo, & Parade

If you’ve been a Boerne-ite for any length of time, you have memories at The Kendall County Fair! As the proud home of the Annual Labor Day Kendall County Fair, Stock Show, and Rodeo, Boerne upholds tradition like no other. This fair celebrates the beautiful Texas Hill Country industries of agriculture, horticulture, and livestock management. From the Queen’s Pageant to the Rodeo to the Livestock show, the folks behind the fair put their heart and soul into these exhibits and events. Come on down this weekend and enjoy food booths, craft booths, live music, clowns, and children's activities as far as the eye can see. Each evening is capped with a dance with a variety of bands and music...And don’t miss the parade on downtown Main Street!

Originally founded in the early 1990’s, Boerne Community Theater has labored to produce quality, live theater that entertains, educates, and enriches the community for over 20 years. This month’s production of “Hay Fever” is set in 1920’s England and follows David and Judith Bliss (novelist and retired actress) as they navigate some mildly dysfunctional (and seriously hilarious) family drama.

11. Dash Through the Cibolo Creek Brewing 5k
In case you didn’t think beer and jogging mixed well together, The Texas Beer Series is sure to put an end to that misconception. The fourth event in this series is taking place in our very own backyard; the Cibolo Creek Brewing 5k Beer Run offers runners the chance to enjoy high-quality craft brews during the race! The looped course will include a total of five beer samples and, once you’ve completed the 5k, you can celebrate with a full pint in a custom glass. Note: If craft beer isn’t your thing (or you’re under 21), there will be a "root beer division" as well!

A classic Texas tradition, clay shooting is an activity that pairs skill with fun! 14. Sit Back at a Music Festival
The Roundup Outdoor Music Venue will be hosting two local music festivals this month! First, Woof stock will allow attendees to enjoy great music and a great cause. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area, Inc. and Bulverde Area Humane Society! Live music will be provided by Ryan Ross Band, Matthew Begley, JJ Garrett Band, Ty Dillon, and Colleen Miller. Then, later in the month, The Jazz & Blues Festival will feature soul-wrenching tunes from Grant E wing Band, Stephen Ochsner, and Taylor Long from Smoke Wagon!

15. Race to the Finish at the Boerne Paddle Battle
It may be a tongue twister, but the Second Annual Boerne Paddle Battle will offer nothing but straight-up fun. Whether you're a total amateur or an Olympic-status racer, all ages, skill sets, and paddle craft are welcome to compete in this unique, family-friendly event at Boerne Lake! The day’s events will include the Fun 5K to the Elite 10K race, as well as awards, food trucks, drinks, vendors, live music, raffle and more.
