The Cibolo Nature Center’s “Thirst for Nature” series aims to pair delicious cocktails with fascinating bio-themed discussions. This month’s event is themed around the fascinating lives of owls! 3. Run for a Great Cause
Want to run for a cause? Head to the 3rd annual Aid the Silent 5K walk/run at the Boerne Main Square Plaza on October 7th! This annual favorite walk/run serves to raise money and awareness for the local South Texas deaf and hard-of-hearing community. Located in the scenic Boerne riverwalk, this race will also display local artwork from area donors, as well as Hill Country scenery. You can register here for yourself or show your support from anywhere in the world by signing up as a “virtual runner.”

4. Try A New Form of Yoga at Random
Just how zen can you get on a Saturday? Aerial Yoga Boerne is teaming up Random Beer Garden to ensure that the answer is, “very.” Featuring an hour of outdoor aerial yoga and a subsequent craft beer, this event is only $30 per participant. Class times are at 11:30 AM, 1 pm, 2:30 PM, or 4:00 PM, and only 8 spaces are available in each class. Aerial Yoga is a unique form of practice that allows you to increase flexibility and range of motion, build strength, and lengthen the spine while using a soft, aerial fabric hammock.

If you’re feeling nostalgic this Halloween, just head to Soda Pops Patio Grill & Bar for a special edition of Halloween Hot Rod Night! Soda Pops is a classic restaurant reminiscent of a retro 50’s diner...combined with a cartoon-worthy ice cream parlor and soda shop with a novelty atmosphere. To add to the whimsy, the attached Ice Cream Parlor + Soda Shop offers homemade treats, tabletop bowling, checkers, coloring books, barrel-of-monkey, and lots of old-school fun. Does art make your heart just a little bit faster? This is the question Second Saturday Art Beat is devoted to helping you answer! If you’re looking for a sort of “last hurrah” for summer, join the Boerne Parks & Recreation Department at a free Family Campout and Fishing Tournament! Camping begins at 10:00 AM on Saturday, and the fishing tournament will begin at 3:00 PM. Dinner will be provided (chips and hot dogs), as well as breakfast (sponsored by Random).

Take a peek back in time! Join the Patrick Heath Public Library on a "Magical History Tour" following the lineage of Dr. Ferdinand Ludwig von Herff and his family, well-known historical figures in the Texas Hill Country! The tour will follow Herff Road, beginning at the first Herff Farm and following the path to another of the family's homesteads along Cibolo Creek. The tour will be free of charge, and a lunch option will be provided at 11:30 by Firehouse Fare at Belleori Homestead for $12/person.

9. Enjoy Arts at the Amphitheater
True to its artistic mission, the Hill Country Council for the Arts has teamed up with the Majestic Ranch Arts Foundation and Boerne Public Library to create an especially Boerne-esque event: Art at the Amphitheater! Set to take place in the stunning outdoor venue at the Patrick Heath Public Library, this series will continue on October 19 with a special performance by The Czechaholics, a polka band from the South Central Texas area.
