From 2-5pm on Saturday, August 19th, the local brewery will showcase local artists, serve tasty food (for donations to local charities), and pour some hand-crafted beers! Kinematic is a “nano-sized brewery” with a tasting room/bottle shop where beer enthusiasts can share their passion over a pint.

2. Rock Out to a Kiss Tribute Concert

Texas may be a country-music-lover’s paradise, but classic rock fans can rejoice at the upcoming KISS Tribute concert at The Roundup! Hailed as the world’s best KISS cover band (hand picked by KISS themselves!), Texas KISS -Destroyer is set to seriously rock out on Saturday, August 19th.

3. Celebrate Cibolo Creek Brewing’s Anniversary

Given Cibolo Creek Brewing Co’s beloved spot in our community, you’d assume this local staple has been around for years! However, the Cibolo One-Year Anniversary Partyis here to remind us just how quickly this little brewpub charmed the whole of Boerne with high-quality beers and fantastic food. This all-day event will start at 1:00 pm and stretch into the night, featuring live music, barbeque specials, and a special beer release (Whiskey Barrel-Aged Roased Coconut Stout!). Live artists will include the Aaron Patterson (3:00 PM), Corey Baum (6:00 PM), and the Harvet Thieves (8:00 PM).

6. Catch an Old-School the Park!

Ditch the typical weekend movie night and watch a classic flick under the stars instead! The City of Boerne is hosting their final Movie in the Park event on Friday, August 18th! You and your family can spread out under the Texas sunset and enjoy a free showing of the 1980’s classic sci-fi movie “Back to the Future.” The movie starts at dark, but you can head to City Park at 6:30 for pre-movie events: pick out a prime spot, grab a movie snack, and enjoy free entertainment. “Back to the Future” stars Michael J Fox as a small-town teen Marty McFly, who finds himself thrown back into the 1950’s by a kooky scientist’s DeLorean time machine. When Marty encounters his unsuspecting parents, hilarious chaos ensues!

From totally classic vendors to quirky pop-ups, Boerne Market Days have always boasted a special touch of style and flair. Stop by the Main Plaza as it transforms into a Texas Hill Country gem: a market that fuses art with business and music, featuring hundreds of booths selling artisan-made goods, from jewelry to leather to furniture to clothing. Got a tech question? Need something fixed? As the pseudo-tech-hero “Teacup Techie”, Alicia Owens will be available at the Patrick Heath Public Library every Tuesday at 10:00 am and 6:00 pm to answer all your questions. Sessions last between 15 and 20 minutes.

9. Sway Along at the Moondance

Nothing quite says “summer time” like the Cibolo Moondance Series! Gather with friends and neighbors, sway to music under the stars, and enjoy the Hill Country outdoors. This extremely casual event celebrates Hill Country vibes beautifully, and the proceeds help support nature education and outreach programs at Cibolo Nature Center & Farm. This month’s artist is the beloved Joe King Carrasco, a “Tex-Mex Rock-and-Roller” with a flair for upbeat fun! Firehouse Fare food truck and Kelani Yogurt will also be in attendance to serve up good eats and drinks. Gates open at 7:00 pm, and music starts at 7:30!

10. Head to Hot Rod Night

If you’re feeling nostalgic this weekend, just head to Soda Pops Patio Grill & Bar for one of their famous “Hot Rod Nights”! Soda Pops is a classic restaurant reminiscent of a retro 50’s diner...combined with a cartoon-worthy ice cream parlor and soda shop with a novelty atmosphere. To add to the whimsy, the attached Ice Cream Parlor + Soda Shop offers homemade treats, tabletop bowling, checkers, coloring books, barrel-of-monkey, and lots of old school fun. During Hot Rod Nights, the town gathers together at Soda Pops to listen to special musical guests and enjoy juicy burgers, cold beer, and handspun shakes. This month’s musical guests are the classic rock & country groups Ricky Adams Band (August 5th) and Derringer Band (August 19th).

On Monday, August 14, Food For Thought (a gathering of book lovers) will meet for their quarterly “Dine and Discuss” potluck. Your next chance will come on Tuesday, August 15 during the monthly meeting of Jane Austen and the Romantics as they discuss classic literature.

A local favorite, The Boerne Village Band boasts status as the longest continuously playing German Band in the world outside of Germany! Abendkonzerte (German for “evening concert”) is literally that: an enjoyable opportunity to head to the plaza and hear the traditional tunes of Boerne’s past. This tour invites participants to “go rogue” and explore the wondrous caves with a light of their own. The cost is $24.95 for adults and $15.95 for kids under 11 years old. Attend this event to learn from Justin Moore of Airborne Aerial Photography as he explains how he provides high-resolution, fine art images and video that helps companies and organizations view their world and tell their story in whole new ways.
